AI AGENT WORKFLOWS THAT AUTOMATE REPETITIVE REVIT TASKS

Set up projects, produce drawings and build model content with your AI agent inside Autodesk Revit.

AUTOM8LABS MCP Connector gives your AI agent the tools to carry out these tasks using your project standards and instructions. From creating levels and sheets to dimensioning drawings and building families, automate repetitive work throughout model and drawing production.

AGENT WORKFLOWS

Full workflow access requires a licence.

Set up projects: create levels, grids, views and sheets using your project information, view templates and titleblocks.

Create area plans: trace boundaries, place and number areas, and review the results against your project's measurement rules.

Produce room documentation: create interior elevations and arrange room views on sheets using your documentation standards.

Dimension drawings: add dimensions to suitable grids, levels and openings using your chosen dimension styles and offsets.

Build model content: create parametric families with reference planes, parameters and named types, then test dimension changes.

Update model information: export element parameters to Excel for review and bring approved changes back into Revit.

GIVE YOUR AI AGENT A TASK

Provide the model, project standards and task details, then review the results in Revit.

"Set up levels, grids, views and sheets using my level schedule and drawing register."

"Create an area plan for the level I specify. Ask which area scheme and measurement rules to use before creating boundaries."

"Create interior elevations for the selected rooms and arrange each room's views on a sheet using my titleblock."

"Dimension grids and openings in the selected plan views using my dimension style and offsets."

"Create a parametric shelving family using the dimensions and named types I provide."

"Export the selected elements' parameters to Excel so I can review and edit them."

FREE EDITION INCLUDED

Start by asking your AI agent questions about your model. The free edition includes tools to inspect elements, parameters, levels, grids, rooms, views, sheets, schedules and loaded families.

You can also review warnings, linked files and worksets, and navigate the model.

"What warnings does this model have?"

"List the doors on Level 1 and show their type names."

"What are the room areas on Level 2?"

"List the sheets in this project."

"Show me the parameters of the selected element."

UNLOCK THE FULL WORKFLOWS

A Pro licence adds tools for creating and modifying model content, setting up projects, producing views and sheets, adding annotations and dimensions, building families, updating parameters and exporting deliverables.

Activate your licence inside Revit using the same installation.

EASY SETUP

Configure supported AI apps from the connector's setup panel. Automatic configuration is available for Claude Desktop, ChatGPT desktop and Cursor. Other compatible MCP stdio clients can be configured manually.

USE YOUR OWN AI

Work with your own AI account. Your AI provider's subscription requirements, usage limits and data policies apply.

The connector communicates locally with Revit and returns tool results to your AI app. Your AI app may send that information to its provider for processing, depending on its configuration.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

  • Fully quit and restart your AI app after setup. For system-tray apps, right-click the icon and select Quit.
  • Start Revit before your AI app. If the connection fails, keep Revit open and restart the AI app.
  • Worksharing features, including workset queries, require an active workshared project.
  • Broad searches may be slower on large models. Filter by category, level or view, or set a result limit where available.
