Overview: 

C3DT Point Cloud Aid is a free productivity plugin for Autodesk® Inventor® 2026 and 2027, designed for drafters and engineers who regularly work with Point Clouds. This tool keeps the Cloud Points command continuously active, so you can place multiple points on a Point Cloud without having to reactivate the command or press Enter after every single point.

The problem it solves:

When working with Point Clouds in Inventor, the Cloud Points command deactivates after every placed point. This forces you to repeatedly reactivate the command or press Enter — slowing down your workflow significantly when placing large numbers of points.

1. Continuous Command Mode — The Cloud Points command stays active after every placed point, eliminating repetitive reactivation
2. Faster Point Placement — Place large numbers of Cloud Points quickly and fluently, directly on your Point Cloud

How does it work?

• Click the C3DT Point Cloud Aid button in the C3DT Tools panel
• Enter your desired point name in the Point Cloud Name field
• Click Start and begin placing points — the command stays active automatically
• Press ESC or right-click and select Cancel to stop — your points will become visible in the model
• Click Start again for a new series, or click✕to close the tool
