$7.00/month
When working out of an Autodesk® Navisworks® model while using Autodesk® AutoCAD® as your design software, Navis To Acad allows a user to instantly transfer geometry, points, and transformations from Navisworks to AutoCAD in real time.
Many times it becomes necessary to reference geometry in a Navisworks model from a file that was not provided to you. With the Mesh->Acad functionality you can instantly transfer the selected geometry from Navisworks to the last active AutoCAD drawing as a block. You also have the option to export each selected object as separate blocks, with or without the Navisworks properties written as attributes of those blocks.
Have you ever been working with a Navisworks model and had to reference a location in AutoCAD? A normal workflow would be to copy and paste the values from the Measure tools dockable panel one at a time. The Points->Acad tool allows you to instantly reference points used in the measurement tool in the last active AutoCAD dwg. Simply snap some points using the "Point to Point" measurement tool in Navisworks, then choose to reference the first point, second point, or both points in AutoCAD and spheres will be drawn at those points. You can also use the "Points->Acad" button in the ribbon.
Another feature of this app allows you to instantly apply move transformations to objects in AutoCAD. Once the objects are moved in Navisworks, right-click on the still selected objects and select the "Transform->Acad" option. If the objects are found in any open drawing in AutoCAD, the transforms will be applied to them.
Pre-requisite: The AutoCAD product needs to be installed in your machine to transfer the points from Navisworks to AutoCAD.
