Family Dashboard by BKJ Automation brings a fully visual, searchable family library directly into Revit — no switching windows, no hunting through folders.

Simply add your .rfa files to the dashboard once and access them instantly on every project. The panel docks to the right edge of your Revit window and stays there as you work.

What else should I know about this product?

System Requirements:

- Autodesk Revit 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026, or 2027

- Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit)

- .NET Framework 4.8 or higher

- Internet connection required for subscription validation on first launch

Data Storage:

Family catalogs are stored locally per-project at:

%AppData%\BKJ Automation\FamilyDashboard\Catalogs\

Thumbnail images are cached at:

%AppData%\BKJ Automation\FamilyDashboard\Thumbnails\

No data is transmitted to external servers except for subscription validation through the Autodesk Entitlement API.

Notes:

- Thumbnail rendering opens each RFA file briefly in the background. This is normal and the file is closed automatically after rendering.

- The dashboard panel docks to the right edge of the Revit window and follows it when moved or resized.

- Press F1 while hovering over the ribbon button for inline help documentation.

Are there any known issues with this product?

- On first launch after installation, Revit may display a security warning asking you to confirm loading the add-in. Select "Always Load" to prevent this on future launches.

- Thumbnail rendering is not available for families that were imported directly from a document (no RFA file path). These families display a name card placeholder instead.

- In rare cases, very large RFA files may cause thumbnail rendering to take longer than expected. The dashboard remains usable during rendering and will update automatically when complete.

- If the Revit window is on a secondary monitor, the dashboard panel will dock to the right edge of the Revit window on that monitor.
