Property Set Excel Tools is a powerful data management suite designed for Autodesk® Civil 3D® and Autodesk® AutoCAD® Architecture/MEP professionals. It bridges the gap between your drawing objects and Microsoft Excel, allowing you to create, export, modify, and re-import Property Set (PSet) data in bulk.

Key Features:

  • Import PSet Definitions: Automatically generate Property Set Definitions in your drawing from a simple Excel template. It instantly creates properties with the correct Data Types (Text, Integer, Real, True/False).

  • Export Property Values: Select any number of objects in your drawing and instantly export their attached Property Set values to a CSV file. The export automatically includes the object's Handle to ensure accurate tracking.

  • Import Property Values: Edit your exported CSV/Excel file, and push the modified data directly back into Civil 3D. The app intelligently maps the data back to the correct objects using their Handles and safely casts text back into the correct AEC Data Types.

  • Remove Property Sets: A built-in utility (with safety prompts) to quickly strip all Property Set data and definitions from a drawing, allowing you to clean a model or start fresh.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

  • Drawing Save Requirement: To use the Export command, your current drawing must be saved so the plugin knows where to generate the export file.
  • Data Types: When importing definitions, the tool recognizes standard data types defined in the 'Type' column of your Excel file (e.g., string, text, int, real, double, bool).

  • Formula & Locked Properties: The "Import Property Values" command cannot overwrite properties that are driven by a Formula or are locked by the system. The tool will safely skip these and report them in the final success message.
  • CSV Formatting in Excel: If you heavily modify the exported .csv file and Excel alters the encoding (causing an import error), simply use Excel's "Save As" feature to save the file as a standard .xlsx workbook. The tool natively reads .xlsx perfectly.
