Curtain Wall Elevations

The Curtain Wall Elevations (©) add-in by Torsion Tools is designed to help users automate the elevation, dimension, and tagging of Curtain Walls.

This application with collect all walls in the project that are Curtain Walls. It will provide a list of those walls, their Mark, Phase Created, Level, and if they have been previously elevated by the tool.

The user will then select a View Type, a Dimension Style, Panel Tag, and the offset criteria for the dimension strings. If there aren't any intermediate curtain wall grids, only an overall dimension string will be created. If intermediate Curtain Grids exist then two dimension strings will be created. One will be for each Curtain Grid, the other for the overall height of the Curtain Wall.

The tool will also tag every Curtain Panel with the tag selected.

What else should I know about this product?

1. This command must be run from a Floor Plan view.

2. A project parameter named 'Torsion_CW_Elevated' of the 'Yes/No' type in the 'Walls' category is required.

3. A Curtain Panel tag family is required for tagging.

4. The application will not include Curtain Walls that have a 'Phase Demolished' set.

Are there any known issues with this product?

1. The application will not work on curvilinear walls. Any wall that is not linear will not be processed.

2. The View Family Type selected must have an Elevation Tag with an Elevation Marker applied.

3. If you have Curtain Walls with sloped tops or edited profiles, not all mullions may be dimensioned. Review elevations for quality control.
