CCTech’s Creo Data Exchange Connector

CCTech’s Creo Data Exchange Connector enables users to create, publish, and consume Autodesk Data Exchanges directly within Creo.

Users can share selected Creo design data and access Data Exchanges created by applications such as Autodesk® Revit®, Autodesk® Inventor®, Rhino, Tekla, Autodesk® Navisworks®, and other Data Exchange-enabled workflows. Users can also synchronize exchanged data to access the latest design information without sharing complete source model files.

Prerequisites

  • Creo Parametric 11.0.6.0 or later must be installed.

  • Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 14.44.35208.0 or later is required and will be installed automatically if needed.

  • Note: For the initial setup, contact CCTech Support at support.dataexchange@cctech.co.in.

Note: This app uses a custom installer (and not the standard App Store installer).

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

CCTech'sCreoData Exchange Connector for lets you share your Creo designs as cloud-based Data Exchanges and bring in design data published by others — all from within Creo. Instead of sending full model files around, you share just the geometry and properties that matter, and collaborators using Revit, Inventor, Grasshopper, or custom applications can consume your data without accessing your source files.

Create an exchange from all solids or only selected components, with a preview and element count before you publish. Choose your Autodesk Docs folder and up axis. As your design changes, update versions of the exchange up, uploading only what changed. Load exchanges from any of your projects at the origin or at set coordinates, and use Load latest to pick up new versions. Select Elements highlights an exchange's components in Creo, and Unload, Delete, and View on Web round out management.

  •  Primitives are not supported and are not exported to the Data Exchange.
  • Appearance support is incomplete — colour, transparency, and material are only partially carried through.
  • "Hide Exchange from all views" is not yet implemented. The option may appear in the interface but does not hide geometry in Creo.
  • A part file is converted to an assembly file when loaded through the connector.
  • You must save your model before and after Create and Load operations, otherwise, exchange information may not be stored correctly.
  • Undo and redo are unavailable while the connector interface is open. Changes do not affect your local model unless you save it, and the connector works only with the active Creo session.
  • Exchanges with more than 10000 elements show a warning and take longer to process. Do not close Creo while an exchange is being processed.
