Arch-e by TwinMaster — An AI Copilot for Design Reasoning and Optimization in Autodesk® Workflows
Arch-e is an AI-native decision intelligence layer that integrates directly into Autodesk-based workflows to support faster, better-informed design decisions across the building lifecycle. Rather than replacing existing BIM tools, Arch-e augments them, bringing real-time reasoning, analysis, and optimization into the environments that design teams already use.
Why Arch-e?
General-purpose AI can answer questions. Arch-e reasons over live BIM data. By combining semantic digital twins, domain knowledge, engineering logic, and multi-agent AI, Arch-e delivers project-specific insights grounded in the context of your Revit model, rather than generic responses.
AEC teams today work across fragmented tools, spreadsheets, and siloed analyses. This leads to slow iteration cycles, delayed decisions, and costly downstream rework. Arch-e addresses this challenge by transforming BIM models and project data into semantically structured digital twins that can be queried, analyzed, and optimized in context.
Once a model is imported, Arch-e builds a semantic representation of geometry, systems, materials, and constraints. This enables natural-language interaction and multi-objective reasoning across key performance domains such as cost, energy, carbon, daylight, zoning, and constructability. Users can ask “what if” questions, explore alternatives, and receive actionable recommendations without leaving their design environment.
Arch-e is strategically designed for the following use cases across the building lifecycle:
- Concept and Design Optimization — Evaluate performance tradeoffs early, before key decisions are locked in.
- Value Engineering — Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining design intent and performance targets.
- Constructability Review — Surface risks, clashes, and sequencing challenges earlier in the process.
- Performance and Sustainability Analysis — Assess energy use, carbon impact, and environmental performance continuously.
- Lifecycle Decision Support — Provide visibility into operational outcomes during design.
Current implementation supports:
- KPI, cost, and compliance feedback in response to user intent-specific prompts.
- Generation of structured reports accessible via API.
- Visualization of results directly within the 3D model environment.
Arch-e combines multiple technologies into a unified workflow:
- Semantic Digital Twin Generation — Converts Autodesk models into structured, machine-readable representations of spatial and system relationships.
- Natural-Language Design Interaction — Enables intuitive querying and scenario exploration using domain-specific language.
- Multi-Agent Reasoning — Specialized AI agents evaluate tradeoffs across multiple disciplines simultaneously.
- Hybrid Simulation + AI Prediction — Blends physics-based analysis with AI-driven prediction for rapid feedback.
- Multi-Objective Optimization — Identifies and ranks design options based on competing constraints and project goals.
The system produces both text-based insights and model-ready outputs, allowing teams to compare options, understand tradeoffs, and apply changes directly within their existing workflows.
By embedding intelligence directly into Autodesk workflows, Arch-e helps teams:
- Reduce design iteration time.
- Minimize downstream rework and risk.
- Improve alignment with cost, performance, and sustainability goals.
- Increase productivity across multidisciplinary teams.
Arch-e uses Autodesk standard three-legged authentication (3LO) process to securely connect users to their Autodesk accounts and authorized project data. Users authenticate directly through Autodesk and explicitly authorize Arch-e to access the resources required for the integration.
