Speed up your 2D annotations with the FORMlab Dimensionator Add-In

Dimensioning in Revit is painful: endless tabbing through overlapping elements and clicking precise references one by one. The Dimensionator replaces your workflow by allowing you to simply draw lines where you want your dimensions instead. It handles all the reference picking for you by determining what your drawn detail lines intersect with.

Configure element filters to specify what element categories should be dimensioned. Include/exclude elements in linked files with a single toggle. Custom families are supported too: any generic model with an IFC Export Category set is treated the same as its native equivalent.

Overlapping dimension text is rearranged automatically, keeping every value clearly readable without manual adjustment.

Validate existing dimensions by letting the Dimensionator select the elements they are attached to, allowing you to inspect dimensions, regardless of whether they were created manually or with the add-in.

Combine multiple detail lines into a single dimension by picking a stacking direction: Left/Right/Top/Bottom. This gives you the freedom to draw as many lines as it takes to catch exactly the elements you want. The resulting line will automatically snap to the first existing dimension in that direction.

Enable External Wall Mode to generate a set of dimensions targeting Exterior System Walls. Choose from a bounding dimension, external faces only, or internal and external faces — each producing its own dimension, all stacked together automatically.

Bind Create Dimensions and Select References to keyboard shortcuts via Revit's shortcut manager and run the add-in's core actions without having to move your mouse over to the panel. Smooth and fast!
