Introducing the Model Query add-in for Autodesk® Inventor®. Query, filter, and visualize the occurrences in your assemblies based on their properties. Scan the active assembly, browse every occurrence in a spreadsheet-like grid showing the properties you care about, filter down to exactly the components you are looking for, and see the results directly in the Inventor viewport.

Whether you need to locate specific components, validate assembly data, or inspect custom iProperties, Model Query helps you quickly find and visualize the information you need without manually navigating the browser.

Key Features

Powerful Occurrence Grid

Browse the assembly as a structured tree, a flat list, or a referenced documents view. Sort, search, and multi-select across all visible columns, while parent rows are kept dimmed for context when only their children match.

Rich, Configurable Columns

Choose from a curated catalog of iProperties (Part Number, Description, Material, Mass, Vendor, sheet metal properties, and many more), computed properties such as quantity, nesting level, suppression state, and bounding-box dimensions, as well as any custom iProperty you add. An optional Preview column displays each component's thumbnail at an adjustable size.

Advanced Filtering

Combine full-text search, part/assembly type filters, and per-column filters with operators such as contains, equals, greater than, in range, and even regular expressions. Save filters as reusable files, reapply them from the Browse and Recent tabs, and share them with your team.

Visualize in the Viewport

Display your query results directly in the model by hiding non-matching components, rendering them transparent, or highlighting the matching components. Visualize the entire filtered set or only the selected rows, and optionally synchronize the grid selection with the Inventor selection.

Quick Filter Docked Window

Apply your saved filters directly from a dockable Quick Filter panel without opening the main window. Simply double-click a filter, choose a visualization method, and you're done.

Profiles

Save your general, visualization, and column settings as named profiles and switch between them instantly. Each profile remembers its own column layout, making it easy to move between different workflows.
