Surface Array Pro
Class Ajiro 3DSurface Array Pro
Class Ajiro 3DAugments AliasĀ® native Surface Array tool: distribute NURBS modules over multi-surface strips with dimensional consistency and intuitive spacing and scaling fades via ramp graphs or greyscale images
Free
Surface Array Pro augments AutodeskĀ® AliasĀ® native Surface Array tool, extending it to handle fading effects the native tool was not designed for. It enables Alias modelers and surface designers to distribute modules āĀ nativeĀ AliasĀ NURBS geometries ā over multi-surface strips across a variety of grid configurations, while maintaining exact dimensional consistency throughout the layout. The grid remains consistent and true throughout the layout regardless of how each individual patch is sized or parameterized ā giving designers a reliable, predictable foundation to build on.
SurfArrayPro introduces a level of artistic control over array behaviour that goes beyond what native tools offer. Spacing and scaling fades can be driven directly using ramp graphs or greyscale images, giving designers an intuitive way to define how patterns transition, taper, or dissolve across a surface. This means complex fading effects that would otherwise require manual workarounds or extensive geometry rebuilds can be achieved quickly and non-destructively, keeping the design process fluid.
SurfArrayPro is designed to feel like a natural part of your Alias workflow. The modules you distribute are native Alias NURBS geometries.
Example Applications
Distribute cylinder modules across a speaker grille area with a density fade that tapers naturally toward the edges ā ready for Boolean cutting directly in Alias. Array spherical modules across a curved panel to create golf ball-like surface textures with scaling fades that respond to the surface form. Any NURBS geometry you can model in Alias can become a module ā giving you direct creative control over surface patterning at a level the native tool was never intended to support.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
Are there any known issues with this product?
- Trimmed surfaces are not currently supported. Any trimmed surface passed to the tool will be treated as its underlying untrimmed surface.
- Multi-span and rational surfaces with non-uniform weights are not officially supported in this release. They may work but the tool has not been optimised for them and calculation times may be significantly longer.
Is there additional support information provided?
