BIMS

BIMS automates repetitive Autodesk® Revit® tasks: formwork, plastering, structural rebar, grid assignment, bulk parameter management, DWG import and sheet export.

Trial

BIMS is a productivity suite for Revit that automates the slowest and most repetitive documentation tasks across structural, architectural and MEP projects. It bundles more than 30 specialized commands, organized into three work panels: General, Structures and Geometry.

GENERAL PANEL

• Assign Grids automatically detects and assigns the nearest grids (axes) to hundreds of elements, across more than 20 categories (columns, walls, beams, floors, doors, windows, MEP fixtures and more).

• Parameter management: transfer, merge (up to 3 into one) and copy values between parameters in bulk, plus transfer the host's ID and mark.

• Assign Room assigns the room name and number to the walls and floors that bound it.

• Import DWG: converts blocks and solids from DWG files into Revit DirectShapes, with an option for independent geometry.

• Export NWC: prepares DirectShapes so they display correctly in Navisworks.

• Export Sheets to DWG: exports sheets to DWG with images embedded INSIDE the file (not as external references), producing fully portable files to share with clients and consultants

• Visualization: highlight the selection and match graphic overrides between elements.

STRUCTURES PANE

• Automated Formwork: generates the formwork for columns, beams, walls, slabs and stairs as native Revit walls and floors, with automatic trimming between elemen

• Plastering by Room: Creates plastering walls and floors on the inner faces of one or more rooms, ideal for quantifying finishes and coatings

• Structural rebar: places reinforcement and stirrups in columns, beams, walls, slabs and foundations.

• Plumbing (Sanitary): sizes inspection chambers, computes pipe lengths, assigns cover elevation and sector, and numbers plumbing fixtures.

GEOMETRY PANEL

• Scale solids, convert elements to geometry within Revit, and export multiple elements to editable .rfa families.

COMPATIBILITY

BIMS is compatible with Revit 2024, 2025, 2026 and 2027, on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit). It requires a permanent internet connection to validate the license with the server, both during the trial period and after activation.

LICENSE

BIMS offers 14 free days of use, after which an active license is required. Licenses are purchased at https://bimsaddin.com (available for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months) and include all panels and commands. After purchase, the user receives an email link to set their password. Once set, they sign in from the plugin inside Revit using their email and chosen password.

No known issues have been reported in this version.

After the 14-day trial, commands require an active license to process elements. The buttons remain visible on the ribbon for reference, but do not perform actions until you sign in with a valid license. This is the intended behavior and is not a bug.
