Automatically switches the active workset when navigating between views in Autodesk® Revit®. Set it once, forget it forever. Supports Floor Plans, Ceiling Plans & Revit Links.

AutoWorksetSwitcher eliminates one of the most repetitive tasks in collaborative Revit workflows: manually switching the active workset every time you navigate to a different view.

On workshared projects, each discipline works in its own workset — Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, and so on. Every time you navigate to a Floor Plan or Ceiling Plan, you have to remember to switch the active workset before making any changes. Forget once, and elements land in the wrong workset, causing coordination problems and rework.

AutoWorksetSwitcher solves this completely. You assign a Default_Workset to each view once using the built-in Workset Manager, and from that point on, Revit automatically activates the correct workset every time you open that view — with zero clicks.

KEY FEATURES:

• Automatic Workset Switching — Navigate to any Floor Plan or Ceiling Plan and the active workset switches instantly. No dialogs, no interruptions.

• Workset Manager — A clean, purpose-built panel showing all your Floor Plans, Ceiling Plans, and Revit Links in one place. Assign worksets from dropdowns, review pending changes, and apply to all views in a single click.

• View Template Support — Set the Default_Workset at the template level and it cascades to all views using that template instantly.

• Revit Links — Assign worksets to linked model viewports so the correct workset activates when you open views containing Revit links.

• Toggle On/Off — Enable or disable auto-switching at any time from the ribbon with a single click. Toggle state is preserved across sessions.

• Lightweight and Non-Intrusive — Runs silently in the background. No popups, no performance impact, no changes to your model structure.

HOW IT WORKS:
1. Open Workset Manager from the GetRevitPlugin ribbon tab
2. Assign a Default_Workset to each view using the dropdown
3. Click "Apply all changes" — done. Revit auto-switches from now on.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

AutoWorksetSwitcher is sold as a one-time lifetime license per machine — not a subscription. Purchase and license key delivery are handled at https://www.getrevitplugin.com
The plugin does not modify your Revit model structure, families, or project settings. It only reads and writes the Default_Workset shared parameter on views.

Auto-switching only applies to views that have the Default_Workset parameter assigned via the Workset Manager. Views without an assignment are unaffected. If auto-switching does not trigger, verify the toggle is ON and the current view has a Default_Workset value set.
