Clash Reporter
BKJ AutomationClash Reporter
BKJ AutomationDetect, review, and resolve geometry clashes between any two Autodesk® Revit® element categories — including linked models — with automatic highlighting, status tracking, and Excel/PDF export.
$6.99/month
BKJ Automation – Clash Reporter eliminates the manual process of identifying and tracking geometry conflicts between Autodesk® Revit® element categories. Select any two model categories (such as Structural Framing vs. Ducts, or Conduit vs. Walls), run the detection, and get a prioritized, annotated report in seconds.
Key Features:
- Real Geometry Clash Detection — Uses Revit's own interference engine to find only true volume penetrations. Adjacent or touching elements are never flagged as false positives.
- Linked Model Support — Clashes are detected across all loaded Revit Link instances, not just within the host model. Coordinate transformations between host and link documents are handled automatically.
- Full Category Coverage — Every Revit model category is available in the discipline selector, matching the same list shown in Visibility/Graphics. No categories are hidden or hardcoded.
- Persistent Results — Clash results are automatically saved between sessions. The Review Panel restores your last run when you re-open the project — no need to re-run detection.
- Clash Review Panel — A dedicated floating panel lets you scroll through all detected clashes, zoom to each clash location in the active view, and manage workflow status.
- Status & Annotation Workflow — Assign each clash a status (Open, In Review, Resolved), an owner (Assigned To), and free-text notes. Annotations persist across re-runs so previous decisions are never lost.
- Visual Highlighting — Clashing elements are highlighted in red directly in the active view. Click any row in the panel to zoom and isolate that specific clash pair. Clear all highlights with one click.
- Excel & PDF Export — Export the full clash report including status, assignments, notes, and clash coordinates as a formatted Excel workbook or PDF for sharing with the project team.
- Screenshot Capture — A screenshot of each clash location is automatically captured at detection time and embedded in the export report.
- Revit 2023–2026 Compatible — Fully tested on Revit 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026, and revit 2027.
Workflow:
1. Click Run Clash Check on the BKJ Automation ribbon panel (Add-Ins tab).
2. Select two element categories from the full Revit category list.
3. The tool scans the host model and all loaded Revit Links and highlights clashes in red.
4. The Clash Review Panel opens automatically with all results.
5. Click any row to zoom to that clash. Assign status, notes, and a responsible party.
6. Export to Excel or PDF to share with the project team.
7. Re-open the project at any time — the panel restores your saved results automatically.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
What else should I know about this product?
System Requirements:
- Autodesk Revit 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026, or 2027
- Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit)
- .NET Framework 4.8 or higher
Clash data is saved per-project to:
%APPDATA%\BKJ_ClashReporter\{ProjectName}.xml
Saved data includes: clash locations (XYZ coordinates), element IDs, categories, family names, levels, workflow status, notes, assignments, and screenshot file paths.
Detection method:
- Host vs. Host elements: Revit's ElementIntersectsElementFilter — true solid volume intersection only. Touching or adjacent elements are never flagged.
- Host vs. Linked Model elements: ElementIntersectsSolidFilter applied inside the link document's coordinate space — same accuracy as host-to-host detection, no manual Boolean operations.
- Fallback for degenerate geometry: bounding-box intersection filter.
The BKJ Automation ribbon panel appears under the Add-Ins tab and is shared with other BKJ Automation plugins if installed.
Are there any known issues with this product?
- Elements with zero-volume or degenerate geometry (certain detail components or symbolic lines) fall back to bounding-box detection and may occasionally produce false positives.
- Linked models that are unloaded at the time of detection are skipped automatically. Load all relevant links before running a clash check.
- Screenshots are captured from the active Revit view at detection time. Non-3D views may not accurately frame the clash location in the exported screenshot.
- Zoom and Highlight buttons in the Review Panel require an active Revit document. If Revit is restarted and only the panel is opened (without running a new clash check), click the Review Panel ribbon button to re-link the panel to the current session.
- On first launch, Revit may display a security warning asking you to confirm loading the add-in. Select "Always Load" to prevent this on future launches.
