DimensionSet controls and modifies dimensions which create one continuous set of dimensions as one object.

DimensionSet has the following commands:

  • Insert new point into dimension set
  • Delete point in dimension set
  • Move base line of dimension set
  • Modify length of extension lines of dimension set
  • Modify properties of extension line and symbol at point
  • Select dimension set

The criteria when two dimensions are considered as part of dimension set are:

  • Base line end point is identical
  • Base line angle is identical
  • Dimensions are on the same layer.

See Additional Information for more details.

Note: The app supports Rotated dimensions (created by command DIMLINEAR) only.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Two dimensions are considered to be part of the dimension set when they have identical base line points (point where is dimension symbol). The default searching tolerance is set to 0.0001 which works in the most situations. However if the dimensions are too far from World Coordinate System 0, 0, 0 (for example 123456000, 1234567000) AutoCAD then loses calculation precision. This can happen when you work in millimeters in the real coordinate system. In this case change tolerance to 0.1 in Setting dialog window or enter DIMSETTOLERANCE.
