Enhance spatial visualization in Autodesk® Revit® with 3D Room/Space Tags & Spatial Volumes. Generate 3D tags and volumes showing room/space names, numbers & geometry across phases and linked models.

$10.00/month

This Autodesk® Revit® add-in enhances spatial visualization by generating 3D tags and spatial volumes for Rooms and Spaces in the current model, with the ability to retrieve room data from linked models. The tool creates 3D tags displaying Room/Space names and numbers across all project phases and generates spatial volumes for a clear, detailed view of each room and space.

Ideal for 3D model reviews and coordination workflows, the add-in offers flexible management options. Users can select specific set of elements for tagging or volume creation, assign them to designated worksets and phases, and delete 3D tags, volumes, and associated filters. It also creates view filters for spatial volumes based on room/space names, improving data organization and visibility.

If a suitable tag family is not found, the add-in loads one automatically, ensuring smooth operation. Users can customize tag families as needed, as long as "Name" and "Number" instance text parameters are included.

The add-in also supports workflows with Autodesk® Navisworks® by embedding spatial information into the 3D model, enriching context during clash detection and design reviews. Additionally, users can clean models by removing all 3D tags, volumes, view filters, model filters, and shared parameters, keeping models streamlined.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

DEMO Limitations:

  • Only the first 10 rooms or spaces from a single phase are generated.
  • Rooms and spaces from linked files are not displayed and are excluded from the table.
  • Dropdown menus and other UI features are disabled in demo mode.

Slow Filter Refresh in Large Models:
In large projects, visible linked models in 3D views may significantly slow down filter creation and refresh. For better performance, it is recommended to hide links while generating 3D spatial volumes and filters.

Room Geometry Generation Edge Cases:
In some cases, room or space geometry may fail to generate correctly or may be created as a tessellated (mesh) object. These cases are logged in the error log file. Review room shapes and verify area and volume calculations in the active and linked models when this occurs.

Linked Model Boundary Limitation:
3D spatial elements can only be generated when all required boundaries are available in the active context. Volumes can be created if boundaries exist in the same model, or when elements are created in the host model using boundaries from a linked model. If a Mechanical model with Spaces relies on boundaries from an Architectural model linked into it, 3D volumes cannot be generated for that Mechanical model when it is linked. Generating volumes directly within the Mechanical model works correctly.
