WireRoute Pro
LindenTechWireRoute Pro
LindenTechAutodesk® Fusion® add-in for routing wires and cables through assemblies with waypoint-based routing, automatic obstacle avoidance, branching, and wire bundling.
$29.99
WireRoute Pro is an Autodesk® Fusion® add-in that creates realistic wire and cable geometry through assemblies. Define a route using waypoints, set start and end points, and generate swept wire bodies — no manual 3D sketches or splines required.
The add-in opens a docked palette from SOLID → CREATE → Wire Routing or ASSEMBLY → CREATE → Wire Routing with three tabs: Wire Setup, Waypoints, and Settings.
How does it work?
- Place waypoints on faces, edges, or vertices to define the wire path
- Define one or more wires with start/end points, names, and colors
- Click Generate — the tool creates swept solid bodies along the routed path
- Adjust waypoints or settings and click Recalculate to update
Key Features:
- Waypoint-based routing — Place directional waypoints that constrain wire tangent direction. Drag, rotate, reorder, or toggle waypoints on/off at any time.
- Multiple cable types — Straight (parallel bundle), Twisted (helical), Ribbon (flat cable with fold detection), and Zip Cord (side-by-side round conductors).
- Automatic wire bundling — Multiple wires sharing the same route are automatically offset and packed to maintain consistent separation through bends and curves.
- Branching and sub-branching — Build tree-structured harnesses with trunk, branch, and sub-branch waypoints. Wires are automatically routed through the shortest path in the tree.
- Graph-based pathfinding — Each wire's route is computed automatically based on proximity to waypoints. Wires can traverse branches in any direction.
- Automatic obstacle avoidance — The routing engine detects collisions with existing bodies and inserts dodge waypoints to reroute around obstacles.
- Per-waypoint wire filtering — Control which wires pass through each waypoint, allowing different wires to take different paths through the assembly.
- Per-wire diameter override — Set a global wire diameter or override it per wire (e.g. thicker power wires alongside thinner signal wires). Supports mm, inches, and AWG gauge input.
- Ribbon cable support — Flat ribbon cables with automatic parallel transport, flatwise correction, fold detection at sharp bends, and configurable conductor count.
- Target cable length — Specify a desired cable length and the routing engine adjusts path relaxation to match.
- Minimum bend radius — Enforce a minimum bend radius to match real-world cable specifications.
- Harness management — Save and load complete harness definitions (waypoints, branches, wire definitions) as JSON files. Support for multiple harnesses in a single design.
- Timeline grouping — All generated wire features are organized into a named timeline group per harness.
- Export — Export a wire list with lengths and properties, or export a flat harness formboard diagram as a DXF file.
- Visual feedback — Color-coded start/end route markers, waypoint highlighting on click, and amber selection indicators during editing.
