Sentinel QC for Worksets helps BIM managers and model coordinators inspect worksets, review a clear correction plan, and apply approved changes. It is designed for workshared models with inconsistent names, missing standard worksets, or legacy worksets that need consolidation.

Compare the active model's worksets against a configured standards profile. See which worksets need attention and review proposed changes before anything is applied.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT CORRECTION
Create missing standard worksets, rename existing worksets, or merge them by transferring their elements to a selected destination. Leave items unchanged with Skip for now; skipped issues remain unresolved rather than being marked compliant.

REUSE YOUR DECISIONS
Keep mapping choices for the current model or save supported choices to a reusable profile. Revisit the decision controls to adjust existing mappings before approving a refreshed plan.

APPLY AND VERIFY
Approve the reviewed scope, apply it, and inspect the resulting model state. Sentinel reports the returned outcome, remaining issues, and verification limitations, with saved receipts for traceability. Revit worksharing permissions and model conditions can prevent changes.

OPTIONAL CLAUDE WORKFLOW
Use Claude with the Sentinel connection to request an inspection, review choices in an interactive panel, and send a short approval message. Claude receives the Apply result and can explain what changed. Claude requires separate installation, an account, and connection setup.

RECOVERY WITH CLEAR LIMITS
Where supported, recovery can restore recorded names and element assignments using the current Revit session's recovery records. Recovery is compensating, not necessarily an exact return to the original model; newly created worksets may remain. Saved receipts document operations but do not provide rollback after Revit restarts.

Data Storage + Retention	Profiles and receipts are retained locally until the user deletes them. The QC module exists only in memory during the Revit session and is cleared when Revit closes. Authentication tokens exist only in memory during the session.
Data Deletion	Users can delete profiles and receipts through the Sentinel UI or by removing files from the local AppData folder. Uninstalling via Windows Add or Remove Programs removes the plugin. Local data in AppData is preserved after uninstalling unless manually deleted.

MCP INTEGRATION
Sentinel is one of the first MCP-integrated apps available on the Autodesk App Store. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants connect to external tools and data sources. Sentinel uses MCP to connect AI Assistants like Claude or Cursor directly to the running Revit model through the Sentinel plugin.

When connected, Claude or the cursor becomes an intelligent BIM assistant that can inspect models, explain findings, apply fixes, extract standards from reference models, and manage the full QC workflow through natural conversation. The AI assistant does not bypass any safety checks — the same governed execution model (Inspect → Preview → Apply → Rollback → Receipt) applies regardless of control surface.

Claude /Cursor Desktop is optional. The Revit plugin works fully without it. To set up, install Claude Desktop from claude.ai/download, click "Configure Claude" in the Sentinel panel, and restart Claude Desktop. For Cursor, cursor.com/get-started, click "Configure Cursor" then restart Cursor.

ROADMAP
Sentinel launches with capabilities covering model intake and project setup, and common standards enforcement tasks. Seventy-two document-level capabilities are coming soon across views, sheets, annotations, graphics standards, content management, export configuration, and model health diagnostics. New capabilities are released progressively over the months following launch and plug into existing profiles with no new workflows to learn.

NETWORK CALLS
All network calls are user-initiated. No calls occur in the background, on a timer, or without explicit user action. After the QC module loads, all inspection and remediation runs locally inside the Revit process.

Are there any known issues with this product?

Authentication is required each time Revit is opened.
The Claude Desktop "Open" button may open claude.ai in a web browser instead of the desktop app on machines where Claude is installed in a non-standard location. The MCP connection still works — open Claude Desktop manually from the Start menu.
After clicking "Configure Claude" for the first time, Claude Desktop must be restarted for the MCP connection to take effect.
