RayTracer
Apereon Imaging LLCRayTracer
Apereon Imaging LLCA tool to perform 2D optical analysis in an Autodesk® Fusion® sketch. You can define refractive indices, lens surfaces, mirror surfaces, and light rays to trace through an optical system.
$4.99
This tool lets the user define multiple refractive indices, lens surfaces, mirror surfaces, and multiple rays directly in a Autodesk® Fusion® sketch.
The tool performs Snell's law at each refractive surface and rebounds light rays off mirror surfaces. This uses tiny "differential" lines to approximate the curve of a lens or mirror, so the user can see spherical aberrations and focal points by propagating multiple rays through an optical system.
The tool is intuitive and easy to use, and can be used directly in a sketch within a larger part or assembly, allowing for real-time optomechanical analysis of a system. The tool can be used with multiple rays and multiple lenses or mirror combinations within the same "run" of the tool.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
What else should I know about this product?
Ensure that initial rays are created with the end point constrained on the first surface.
Ensure that all lens and ray, and mirror sketches are fully constrained before running the program.
Are there any known issues with this product?
If angles are extreme, odd ray behavior can occur. Spline lenses or mirrors cannot be used.
