Acouso-ROOM™ – Room Acoustic Analysis & Simulation

Acouso

Professional room acoustic analysis and reverberation simulation directly inside Autodesk® Revit®. Analyse rooms, visualise sound propagation, and evaluate acoustic performance without leaving Revit.

Trial

Acouso-ROOM™ is a professional room acoustic analysis add-in for Autodesk® Revit®.

It helps architects, acoustic consultants, and building designers review room acoustic performance directly inside the Revit environment. Users can assess reverberation performance, review room-by-room acoustic schedules, manage acoustic standards, apply material data, and identify rooms that may require further treatment or design review.

Acouso-ROOM Main Window

Run project-wide acoustic analysis, review room schedules, assign occupancy types, and manage acoustic standards from a central dashboard. The dashboard also supports project package import/export, readable report generation, and backup/recovery workflows for acoustic project data.

Room Analysis

Inspect individual room performance in detail. Room Analysis automatically derives room geometry and room height, performs reverberation analysis across frequency bands, and displays spectrum-based reverberation information for the selected room.

Users can review Revit element and material hints for room surfaces, customise surface material selections, apply acoustic treatment areas, and adjust room-level inputs such as occupancy or height when project defaults need refinement.

Ray Analysis

Visualise acoustic reflection paths in the Revit model and review reflection behaviour for selected source locations and surfaces. Users can adjust ray count, spread, reflection depth, and path settings to explore how sound may interact with room surfaces during design review.

Material Library

Create, duplicate, edit, and manage acoustic material data used by Acouso-ROOM. Materials can include absorption data across frequency bands, surface category information, and treatment classification so they can be used consistently in room analysis and project standards.

Custom Standards

Create project-specific acoustic standards, occupancy types, target limits, and default material assumptions. Standards can define default floor, wall, and ceiling materials for different room uses, helping project analysis stay consistent across large models.

Reporting and Support

Generate readable report packages for selected rooms and schedules, including room, reverberation, treatment, and surface material outputs where selected. Licensed users can also send support diagnostics to Acouso when help is needed.

Trial Version

Acouso-ROOM includes a trial configuration (Acouso-ROOM Intro) providing access to core visualisation and project overview features.

Trial users can:

  • View acoustic project schedules
  • Import acoustic analysis results
  • Use acoustic ray tracing with limited configuration

Advanced acoustic analysis features, including detailed room analysis and expanded ray simulation tools, are available with a full Acouso-ROOM licence.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

NO KNOWN CRITICAL ISSUES

Potential typical high load issues:

  • Very large Revit models may result in longer acoustic analysis calculation times.
  • Ray tracing simulations with high ray counts may impact performance depending on system hardware.
  • An internet connection is required for licence authentication through the User Hub.

If any issues are encountered, please contact Acouso support.
