Foreman — Admin Layer for Autodesk Forma®

IssueLab Limited

Automate document QA, folder deployment, permissions, access requests, and audit for Autodesk Forma®. AI-powered rules, ISO 19650 out of the box, OCR in 15 languages, scheduled checks.

Trial

Foreman is the admin layer for Autodesk Forma. It automates the jobs most teams end up doing with spreadsheets and email chains — document QA/QC, folder deployment, permissions, access requests, member audits, and more.

Hundreds of files with inconsistent names. Permissions that drift between projects. Access requests are buried in email. MIDP registers that don't match the CDE. Most firms handle this with spreadsheets and one heroic person. Foreman automates it.

Built by IssueLab, an Autodesk Authorized Developer shipping AEC software since 2020.

Key Features

Automated Document QA/QC: Validate naming conventions, metadata, allowed values, and content-match rules. Foreman downloads PDFs, extracts text from zones, validates metadata, and checks naming across every file in one run.

Start with built-in ISO 19650 rule sets (Full and Core) or Basic Naming Hygiene. Clone and customise for your standards. Assign different rule sets per folder — WIP, shared, and published files each checked against the right standard.

Track violations from Open to Resolved on an interactive dashboard. Push findings to Forma Issues with two-way status sync, or export as CSV, Excel, or branded PDF reports for audit evidence packs.

Project Matrix Wizard A guided workflow to define your project structure. Import roles from CSV or use AI Assist to generate suggestions. Deploy folder templates with recommended permission strategies across projects in one operation.

Folder Deployment & Validation: Define a standardised folder structure once, deploy it across every new Forma project. Templates expand from smart placeholders — party names, disciplines, ISO 19650 CDE states — into a complete folder tree. Validate existing projects against the template to spot drift, then deploy what's missing in one operation.

Permissions Graph & Member Audit: Visualise folder permissions as an interactive graph. Drill into any level, edit access inline, and audit membership across projects to spot gaps.

Access Requests & Analytics: Custom access request forms with a self-service portal. Auto-approve by domain, department, or role, or route for manual review. Track approval rates, response times, and trends.

PDF Zone Extraction & OCR in 15 Languages: Draw extraction zones on title blocks. Size variants auto-match A0 through A4. Tesseract extracts text from scanned PDFs in 15 languages. AI-powered regex builder generates patterns from examples — no code required.

Attribute Extract: Select folders, pick attributes, export to CSV, Excel, or JSON. Upload your own Excel template and Foreman populates it, preserving your formatting. Schedule recurring extracts with email notifications.

Scheduled Automation: Automate QA/QC checks, attribute extracts, folder validation, and audit snapshots on cron schedules. Email notifications with results.

Bulk Member & Role Management: Add members individually or in bulk. Restructure legacy formats with AI into the Party-Function-Discipline model. Sync role and member data automatically.

Cross-Project File Search Search files across multiple projects at once. Filter by name, type, date, and creator. Export to CSV and analyse storage usage.

Multi-Account & Tenant Management: Manage multiple Forma accounts from one place. Switch between APS configurations instantly — ideal for consultants and multi-org teams.

Foreman Assistant & MCP 100+ tools via the Model Context Protocol, enabling Claude, Cursor, and Copilot to manage your projects conversationally.

Enterprise-Grade Security: Users sign in with their Autodesk account — no new passwords, no parallel user directory. Foreman inherits Forma permissions. Two-factor authentication, passkey (WebAuthn/FIDO2), OAuth 2.1, role-based access control, and full audit logging.

Who Foreman is for: Document controllers, BIM managers, information managers, QA/QC leads, and senior practitioners responsible for running Autodesk Forma at scale. If you're the person other teams come to with "can you quickly check this?" — Foreman is the tool you've wanted.

Subscription Plans

Foreman offers Free, Starter, Pro, and Team tiers. The Free plan includes naming conventions, file format rules, 1 rule set, OCR in 15 languages, and CSV/Excel export. Paid plans add content match rules, PDF reports, scheduled checks, and advanced administration features like access requests and MCP integration. Billing is managed through Stripe.
