Registro is a Revit add-in that enforces shared parameter standards across projects. Three repeatable, JSON-driven commands give BIM managers full control over parameter definitions, computed values, and workset assignments — no scripting, no custom tools, no manual element selection.

Shared parameter standards are the backbone of every FM, COBie, and digital-twin data handover. Registro makes them consistent, repeatable, and auditable by replacing ad-hoc manual processes with three commands driven by plain, human-readable JSON rule files you can review, version-control, and reuse across every project.

PARAMETER REGISTRY

Open any project and view every bound shared parameter in a searchable, filterable grid: name, GUID, data type, parameter group, instance/type flag, and every category it is bound to. Edit binding type or categories directly in the grid and apply changes without leaving Revit. Load a previously exported JSON baseline to see exactly what was added, removed, or changed — and selectively sync differences back into the model. Create new shared parameters directly from the same window: fill in the definition, pick categories with a searchable checklist, and bind in one click. After applying, export the current state to a JSON file for use as the reference for other commands or future comparisons.

CONCAT RULES

Compute derived parameter values from formulas. A two-panel window shows all model parameters on the left as draggable tokens and editable rule rows on the right. Drag parameter names into the Formula cell to build expressions such as {LO_Grid}_{LO_Level} or {LO_Zone} - {FamilyName}. Built-in tokens {FamilyName}, {TypeName}, {UniqueId}, and {ElementId} require no shared parameter. Set the Order field to chain rules — a value written early can feed a formula later. After applying, a result dialog shows per-rule counts (collected, updated, skipped) and sample written values. A diagnostics journal captures per-element skip reasons for review.

WORKSET ASSIGNMENT

Filter elements by parameter conditions using AND logic and assign them to worksets — creating missing worksets automatically. Generate Template reads the live model's existing user worksets and available parameter tokens and pre-fills a starter JSON rules file. Load and Apply evaluates each rule in sequence and assigns matching elements to their target workset. Non-workshared models are rejected gracefully.

Key Features:

• Three ribbon commands for parameter governance, value computation, and workset sorting

• Plain-JSON rules — review, share, and version-control your standards

• WPF windows with dark AvantLeap theme — searchable grids, drag-and-drop formula building

• Searchable category checklist picker for parameter binding and concat category filters

• Concat diagnostics journal with per-rule element counts and skip reason samples

• All file paths remembered between sessions

• All writes wrapped in a single Revit transaction per command; original shared-parameter file always restored

Note: Registro requires Revit 2026 and above. All operations run locally — no cloud connection, no telemetry.

Note: This app uses a custom installer (and not the standard App Store installer).

System Requirements:

- Autodesk Revit 2026, Revit 2027

- Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit)

- .NET 8.0 (installed automatically with Revit 2026)

- Workset Assignment requires a workshared (central or local copy) model

Rule Files:

Registro is driven by plain-JSON files you create, edit, and reuse across projects:

- Parameters JSON: written by Parameter Registry after Apply

- Concat-rules JSON: authored in the Concat Rules window and saved via Save Rules

- Workset-rules JSON: generated by Workset Assignment Generate Template, then edited

Because these are plain text, rule files can be version-controlled, shared by email, or stored on a network drive to standardize parameters across your whole team.

Formula Tokens:

Concat formulas use {ParameterName} tokens. Instance values are checked first; type values are the fallback. Built-in tokens: {FamilyName}, {TypeName}, {UniqueId}, {ElementId}.

No known critical issues in this version.

Storage-type coverage: Concat rules are optimized for Text (String) parameters. When a formula result is applied to an Integer or Double target, review the written value to confirm it converted as expected.

Workshared requirement: Workset Assignment only runs on workshared models. Non-workshared models are rejected with a clear message.

DataGrid commit: In Concat Rules, ensure the Target Parameter cell is not in edit mode when clicking Apply. If the result shows 0 Updated, check the concat-journal.txt in Documents\AvantLeap\Tools\Registro\ for per-rule diagnostics.
