Vcad is the integration between Autodesk Forma® and Microsoft Power BI®, that allows the easy and immediate creation of reports and dashboards, using the data and graphic elements of your BIM files.

With Vcad you can automatically generate Power BI reports that will contain a fully interactable rendering of the model as well as all the data defined in the model, including all the elements of the model, the defined attributes of the elements, all the spaces and their relations with the elements of the model.

Vcad will allow you to enhance your business intelligence and analytics by using data coming from your IFC, Autodesk® Revit®, Autodesk® Navisworks®, Dwg and many more file formats.

 

Authentication:

Vcad uses two different Autodesk authentication flows, depending on the type of data being accessed.

For connecting to Autodesk Forma accounts, Vcad relies on 3-legged OAuth authentication, which requires the end user to log in and grant access. This method is used whenever hubs, projects, or user-specific information needs to be retrieved.

For working with model and derivative data, Vcad uses 2-legged OAuth authentication, a server-to-server process that does not require user interaction. This allows Vcad to securely extract models and retrieve their derivatives in the background.
