Buildings AI
Centre for Computational Technologies (CCTech)Buildings AI
Centre for Computational Technologies (CCTech)Buildings AI is a cloud-native, AI-powered simulation platform that streamlines BIM-to-simulation workflows for HVAC designers, energy modellers, and architects
Trial
Buildings AI is an AI-powered, cloud-based platform for whole-building performance modeling, HVAC design, load calculations, energy simulation, and automated engineering documentation. It helps architects, HVAC consultants, energy analysts, and building design teams transform architectural information into reliable performance insights faster.
Ā
By combining trusted EnergyPlus-based simulation, ASHRAE/ACCA Standard 183-compliant load calculation workflows, Agentic AI, and Report Assistant, Buildings AI enables teams to make better design decisions, optimize building performance, support the path toward NZEB, and reduce the effort required to move from concept to engineering reports.
- Faster building performance decisions: Convert AutodeskĀ® RevitĀ® models, architectural drawings through PDF2BIM, or early concepts created with Sketcher into simulation-ready building models with reduced manual effort.
- Reliable HVAC sizing outcomes: Perform ASHRAE/ACCA Standard 183-compliant heating and cooling load calculations to support accurate system sizing and design validation.
- Flexible HVAC modeling: Evaluate HVAC strategies from early ideal-load studies to schematic and detailed system modeling, allowing teams to use the right level of detail at each design stage.
- Energy and performance optimization: Generate whole-building energy insights, 8760-hour load profiles, and annual performance results to compare design alternatives and improve energy efficiency.
- Agentic AI assistance: Use AI that actively supports the workflow, from model setup and data preparation to simulation readiness and reporting, helping reduce repetitive tasks and modeling errors.
- Report Assistant: Generate editable, branded, and professional engineering reports such as load calculation reports, ventilation reports, basis-of-design documents, and compliance-oriented summaries.
- Connected cloud platform: Manage project data, simulations, and generated outputs in a centralized environment that supports faster coordination and consistent project delivery.
As a single platform, Buildings AI helps users go beyond isolated modeling or calculation tasks. It creates a connected digital workflow where building data, HVAC design logic, simulation intelligence, compliance-ready calculations, and AI-assisted reporting work together. The result is faster turnaround, improved accuracy, stronger design confidence, and better-performing buildings from early design through final documentation.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
Are there any known issues with this product?
Known Issues and Recommendations
-
Build Configuration Not Found While Creating HVAC Configuration
Build configurations appear in HVAC configuration only after the building configuration is completed and submitted. Users must assign materials, space types, and zoning, then submit the build configuration. Processing may take a few minutes. -
HVAC Configuration Not Found While Creating Load or Energy Simulation
HVAC configurations appear in load and energy workflows only after the HVAC configuration is completed and submitted. -
Revit Model Requires Defined Spaces or Rooms
For imported Revit models, spaces/rooms should be properly defined before upload. Missing spaces may affect zoning, HVAC setup, load calculations, and simulation accuracy. -
PDF2BIM Is Experimental
Use clean PDF floor plans where walls, windows, doors, and room boundaries are clearly visible. -
AutodeskĀ® AutoCADĀ® to PDF Preparation
Before exporting from AutoCAD to PDF, hide unnecessary layers such as furniture, annotations, dimensions, hatches, and grids. -
AI Outputs Require Review
Users should review and confirm AI-extracted data, simulation inputs, and reports before use.
