ReUniXchange is an Autodesk® Revit® plugin for BIM-to-Unity, BIM-to-Unreal, and real-time visualization workflows. It helps export BIM geometry, IFC-aware metadata, material data, and structured handoff packages from Revit for use in immersive XR, modular construction, digital twin, and downstream visualization environments.
- The plugin provides tools for checking model data quality, enriching empty parameters, assigning shared parameters such as ModularID, and preparing Revit elements for reliable export. For modular workflows, ModularID values can be generated from Revit group information to support logical tracking, reconstruction, and inspection in Unity or other runtime systems.
- ReUniXchange exports metadata from selected Revit views to CSV, with optional IFC entity, property set, quantity set, SI-normalized quantity, JSON metadata, summary report, and batch export support. Batch metadata export can process multiple views and generate summary files or ZIP packages.
- For geometry exchange, the plugin supports OBJ export with matching MTL files, material sidecars, metadata sidecars, and unit/coordinate reports. It also supports glTF export for modern real-time pipelines, including .gltf plus binary buffer output and metadata sidecars that map exported nodes back to Revit elements. Material export can generate Unity-readable material files, texture-related outputs where available, and material usage reports.
- ReUniXchange can also create Unity/Unreal handoff packages containing metadata CSV, metadata JSON, hierarchy JSON, materials CSV, package manifest JSON, validation reports, and optional copied geometry files such as OBJ, glTF, GLB, or FBX. These packages help keep geometry, metadata, materials, and validation evidence together for downstream use.
- Changes made in Unity through the companion BIMUniXchange/ReUniXchange workflow can be exported to XML and imported back into Revit. The Revit plugin validates the XML format, previews proposed changes, creates CSV/JSON backups, and applies selected updates such as element movement, rotation, parameter edits, added elements, or removed elements where Revit permits.
- The plugin is intended for architects, engineers, researchers, and developers working with modular construction, BIM-to-XR pipelines, BIM data enrichment, and digital twin workflows. It supports Autodesk Revit 2024, 2025, and 2026 installation targets through a custom installer. Files are stored locally and are not externally transmitted by the plugin.
- A companion Unity package for importing exported data and generating compatible XML is available at:
- Note: For OBJ workflows, use filenames containing only letters, numbers, underscores, or hyphens. Avoid spaces and special characters in .obj, .mtl, and texture filenames so Unity and OBJ loaders can correctly resolve materials and textures.
Note: This app uses a custom installer, not the standard Autodesk App Store installer.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
What else should I know about this product?
Additional Information
ReUniXchange supports Revit 2024, 2025 and 2026.
Larger Revit models may take longer to export to OBJ.
All exported files are saved locally.
Are there any known issues with this product?
if the name of the file has some custom characters then inside Unity the material may not be imported so make sure the name of the obj file is just alphabets and numbers
