SAGA — Shawn’s Assembly Guide Authoring — is an Autodesk® Fusion® add-in for creating clear, illustrated assembly instructions from the model already open in Fusion.
Capture the active Fusion view for each step, write the instruction, and add editable arrows, leaders, labels, visual markers, and BOM-linked part callouts. Transparent-background PNG captures are supported when enabled.
SAGA includes a practical catalog for printed or fabricated parts, purchased hardware, tools, and consumables. BOM data can be entered directly or imported from CSV or XLSX. Quantity checks distinguish items that are installed or used from callouts that are shown for reference only.
Projects can include one optional configuration split with up to five paths. Before publication, SAGA checks required content, configuration consistency, assets, and BOM allocation. It then creates one PDF containing the guide, linked contents, bookmarks, branch navigation, step notices, step-specific item lists, and an optional total bill of materials.
SAGA projects remain editable and are stored in a normal local folder selected by the user. SAGA does not upload Fusion models or project content, use analytics, show advertising, create a separate SAGA account, or send automatic crash reports. Network access is used only to verify Autodesk Marketplace entitlement.
