MA-REBARS
The Definitive Rebar Detailing & Automation Toolkit for Autodesk® Revit®
MA-REBARS is a Revit extension built for day-to-day concrete reinforcement detailing. It combines parametric rebar automation, smart view and annotation tools, and fabrication-oriented schedules so you can cut repetitive clicking, reduce marking and schedule errors, and produce cleaner, more consistent drawings.
1. Advanced Rebar Automation & Modeling
Generate parametric reinforcement for common concrete hosts in seconds instead of placing bars one by one.
- Beam Rebar — rectangular beams (any slope): stirrups, longitudinal bars, support and supplemental options, with profile-based setup
- Column Rebar — vertical rectangular columns: stirrups, longitudinal bars, corners, assembly stirrups, and related detailing options
- Opening Rebar — reinforcement around wall openings
- 3D Live Preview + 2D Sketch — review the layout inside the settings UI before committing bars to the model
- Apply / Apply All Mark / Modify — place new configurations, apply by mark, or recreate only the layers you changed
- Running Length support — mark and handle continuous/running bars via dedicated parameters and schedule logic
2. Smart Detailing & Native Revit Workarounds
Tools aimed at dense plans and sections — and at detailing cases that are awkward or limited in native Revit.
- HideTag / Mass HideTag / HideTag Details — control dense bar groups and annotation presentation with fewer clicks
- Assign Layer — organize floor rebar into top/bottom layers
- Split Rebar & Split Array — controlled splits with overlap handling
- Rebar Cranker — create cranked bars as native polylines (with undo/delete support)
- Bending Detail — place bending details on sheets in bulk
- Running Length & Variable Rebar workflows — model, mark, and document layouts that are difficult to manage cleanly with stock Revit tools alone
3. Dynamic Documentation & Annotations
Speed up sheet production so more time goes to engineering, less to formatting.
- Automated tagging & dimensioning workflows through Auto Documentation profiles
- Bending details placed directly into documentation views/sheets
- Variable Rebar schedules — detect variable sets and place per-mark variable schedules on sheets
- Bound View Title — keep Title on Sheet / view naming aligned with element marks
- Auto Documentation — create sections/views, tags, bending details, dimensions, and sheet placement for columns, beams, and walls
4. Visibility & View Management
Control reinforcement visibility across the project without repeatedly digging through Visibility/Graphics.
- Rebar Filter / Reset Filter / Copy Filter — partition-based visible / halftone / invisible control
- Unobscured / Obscured — switch rebar presentation for clearer 3D review (optional auto-update for new bars)
- Section tools — create sections (including temporary), configure section settings, and bulk hide/show section marks on sheets
5. Schedules, Marking & Data Export
Keep BBS-oriented deliverables accurate and fabrication-ready.
- Mark / Find Mark — partition-based M_Mark numbering and quick locate/highlight
- Rebar Schedule — place partition-filtered schedules from templates onto sheets
- Variable Rebar schedules — for varying bar sets (after marking and with a partition schedule on the sheet)
- Running Length schedule formatting — display and quantity handling tuned for continuous bars
- Export Schedule — export the active schedule view to Microsoft Excel for estimation and fabricator handover
- Import tools — shapes, shared parameters, schedules, and families for a consistent project setup
6. Quality Control & Project Administration
Catch issues earlier and keep project organization tighter.
- Rebar Check — configurable checks for marks, partitions, variable schedules, similarity, bending details, missing tags, and related detailing consistency
- Insert Sheet — insert sheets with controlled numbering shifts
- Project Time — track modeling time per project/machine to improve team visibility
- Central Settings — marking/rounding, HideTag, filters, check rules, schedule titles, and related project standards in one place
Installation Note:
This application uses a custom installer optimized for corporate deployment, rather than the standard Autodesk App Store installer workflow.
