Ecco - Logistics Planning
AvantLeapEcco - Logistics Planning
AvantLeapEcco is an Autodesk® Revit® add-in that creates unified proxy solids from assemblies, families, and groups for logistics planning — enabling QTO, delivery sequencing, and truck assignment.

Ecco is an Autodesk® Revit® add-in that creates proxy representations of assemblies, families, and groups as unified DirectShape elements with a single solid. This enables quantity takeoff, delivery sequencing, and procurement tracking directly inside Revit without exposing internal model complexity to logistics workflows.
The tool works in five steps. First, select model elements (assemblies, family instances, or groups) and click Create Proxies. Ecco recursively collects all subcomponent solids, merges them into a single boolean-unioned solid, orients it according to the element's facing direction, and places it as a DirectShape at a user-defined staging offset. A bidirectional relationship, stored using Revit ExtensibleStorage, links each proxy back to its source element.
Second, use Rotate Proxy to rotate selected proxies in 90-degree increments around the X, Y, or Z axis, allowing you to verify truck-fit orientation visually in any view.
Third, open Set to Truck. The view automatically isolates proxy elements, allowing you to continuously assign proxies to a truck or container ID without reopening the window between assignments.
Fourth, Create Schedule generates a Revit schedule (Ecco — Logistics Schedule) listing all proxies by truck assignment.
Finally, Proxy QC validates proxy-to-source links and identifies orphaned proxies after model revisions.
Construction BIM coordinators, site logistics planners, and procurement teams working on prefabricated steel, modular construction, or large MEP coordination projects often spend hours building and maintaining simplified logistics models manually by extracting geometry, renaming elements, and updating spreadsheets. Ecco reduces this effort to minutes per session while keeping the logistics model synchronized with the design model through its proxy link system.
Key Features
- Merged-Solid Proxy Creation – Boolean-unions all subcomponent geometry into a single DirectShape solid for each element.
- Bidirectional ExtensibleStorage Links – Stores the proxy ↔ original relationship in the Revit model, allowing it to be validated through Proxy QC.
- Modeless Rotate Proxy – Remains open across multiple rotations and supports 90-degree increments around the X, Y, and Z axes.
- Modeless Set to Truck – Provides a continuous assignment workflow, automatically isolates proxy elements when opened, and restores the view when closed.
- Logistics Schedule – Creates a Revit schedule grouped by truck or container Mark with a single click.
- Revit Compatibility – Supports Autodesk® Revit® 2023 through 2027.
Note
Ecco requires an active Revit project. Proxy geometry requires elements with accessible solid geometry. The staging offset places proxies relative to each element's in-model position. The schedule uses the built-in Mark parameter for truck or container ID grouping.
Note: This app uses a custom installer (and not the standard App Store installer).

Are there any known issues with this product?
No known critical issues in this version.
Known minor limitations:
- Staging offset places proxies relative to each element's in-model position, not a consolidated staging area.
- Proxy rotation applies to all Generic Model elements selected, not only Ecco proxies.
- The logistics schedule uses the Mark parameter for truck/container ID grouping — conflicts with other Mark uses.
- Elements in Revit linked models are not included in proxy geometry.
