Introduction

Copy Assistant copies an Autodesk® Inventor® part or assembly together with its drawing, in one go. It is made for teams that do not use Autodesk® Vault® or a similar data-management system, where copying a model and its drawing by hand in Windows Explorer is slow and easy to get wrong.

By default it copies the active document; you can also select another document to copy. It searches the source document's folder for the matching .idw or .dwg drawing and, if you want, copies it alongside the model. One document is copied per run.

Good to know: the drawing is found when it sits in the same folder as its model (.ipt or .iam), which is how most projects are organised.

Copy Assistant is part of the BLUE MECH Axion add-in family and installs with a signed installer that also sets up the Axion framework.
