Pipe System Isolator MCP

BIM-IT

Pipe System Isolator MCP is a Revit add-in that lets you isolate pipe systems in the active Revit view using natural language commands through MCP-compatible clients such as Claude Desktop or Cursor.

Free

Instead of manually searching, selecting, and hiding elements, you can ask the MCP client to isolate a specific pipe system by its System Abbreviation. The tool then isolates the matching pipes and related piping elements, including fittings, valves, and pumps, in the current Autodesk® Revit® view.

The add-in also includes a reset command that restores the view after temporary isolation.

This tool is focused on plumbing and piping workflows in Revit. It does not modify the model geometry or parameters. It only uses temporary view isolation in the active view.

Main features:

  • Isolate Revit pipe systems by System Abbreviation
  • Include related piping elements such as fittings, valves, and pumps
  • Reset the active view after temporary isolation
  • Use Revit through Claude Desktop or Cursor with MCP
  • No permanent changes to the Revit model

Note: This app uses a custom installer (and not the standard App Store installer).

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Pipe System Isolator MCP requires an MCP-compatible client such as Claude Desktop or Cursor.

The tool is designed for Revit piping and plumbing workflows. It uses System Abbreviation values from the current Revit model to identify pipe systems. System abbreviations may vary between projects, so users should use the exact abbreviations defined in their model.

The tool uses temporary view isolation only and does not make permanent changes to model geometry, parameters, or project data.
