SplineOffset is a powerful modifier for Autodesk® 3ds Max® that lets you clone and offset splines with ease! Whether you're looking to create intricate designs, repeatable patterns, or simply streamline your workflow, SplineOffset has you covered.
With SplineOffset, you can create multiple clones of splines and incrementally increase or decrease their offset, translation, and rotation. It's like 3ds Max's built-in array tool combined with a spline offset function, but with the added benefits of being fully parametric and able to heal overlapping splines, making it perfect for a wide range of applications.
SplineOffset is fully non-destructive, so you can edit your settings at any time. You can also set, increment, and create patterns of Material IDs on cloned splines, and choose between 5 end types and 3 bevel types to customize your design. Plus, multiple SplineOffset modifiers can be used to create sophisticated nested effects.
The SplineOffset interface is user-friendly and intuitive, making it easy to adjust settings such as the number of times the input spline is duplicated, the incremental offset of the cloned splines, the offset distance between each parallel, and the stepped values set for the X, Y, and Z axes.
SplineOffset includes two algorithms for performing offset and healing operations: 2D Mode and 3D Mode. The 2D algorithm provides the most robust healing solution and has additional options to define how the parallels are created, while the 3D mode will retain the spline's position and orientation and attempt to make appropriate clones.
With features like these, it's easy to see why SplineOffset is a must-have for anyone working with splines in 3ds Max. Compatible with Max 2014 and above, SplineOffset is the ultimate tool for creating complex spline designs in a fraction of the time.
