BIMida is primarily intended for BIM projects in Luxembourg and Belgium, aiming to comply with national data frameworks (GID sheets).
These GID sheets are available on the website www.bimids.eu. It is particularly useful during BIM tenders or contracts that define required information levels for each phase and use case (e.g., CRTI-B/Buildwise conventions). Internally, BIM Managers and modelers can use BIMida to ensure all required data is filled before deliverables are submitted, avoiding omissions and non-compliance.
By unifying the property entry format, the plugin also simplifies model exchanges between stakeholders and prepares a clean IFC export with the correct properties in the right places.
Lastly, BIMida evolves alongside standards: new use cases and data requirements can be added in future updates. The current version already supports a broad range (regulatory, analysis, maintenance, etc.) and serves as an operational reference for implementing the Level of Information Need in Autodesk® Revit®. In short, BIMida is an essential BIM data maintenance tool for keeping models aligned with established requirements and facilitating information exchange throughout the project lifecycle.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
Are there any known issues with this product?
Performance
- Selecting more than 5 000 elements at once may cause the palette to refresh slowly while parameter values are aggregated; we recommend filtering by category before bulk edits.
Isolation mode
- When the Smart Classification Selector is used inside Revit's "Isolate" mode, the isolated set is not refreshed automatically when switching classifications; click *Restore* and re-isolate to update the view.
Categories Levels & Grids
- Datum elements (Levels, Grids) are not yet exposed in the parameter palette; planned for a future release (tracked: GitHub #2).
Shared parameter file lock
- In multi-user environments, BIMida temporarily locks the shared parameter file when adding new IFC parameters; collaborators must close the file in Revit's Manage tab during this operation.
Plannerly imports
- Empty value rows in Plannerly XLSX exports are skipped silently; verify the import summary log to confirm row counts.
