LOOM is a plug-in for Autodesk® Inventor® from Ardaena Nexus Apps. This plug-in is designed to automate repetitive tasks within engineering workflows.
The plug-in focuses on two main processes:
- Modifying or generating the iProperties field for batch files
With this feature, the plug-in automatically reads each .ipt or .iam file, accesses its iProperties, updates the part number, saves the changes, and then closes the file. This part has two main functionalities to operate on selected files as follows:
- Set the file name or part of the file name as the part number.
- Define a new logic for the part number as a combination of constant strings and incremental numbers.
- Automatic drawing mass production based on a template
This feature requires the user to input a sample drawing sheet and a list of Inventor .ipt or .iam files that require drawings. The plug-in then generates a drawing for each file. Additionally, it can add a parts list table to each drawing using custom user attributes (iProperties > Custom) in the files. The steps for this part are as follows:
- Choose a sample Inventor drawing file.
- Choose a batch of .ipt or .iam files.
- Select which sheet properties from the sample sheet to copy to the new sheets.
- Part List: for the assembly file formats (.iam), the plug-in can add a parts list table. It can also add columns for custom properties that the user desires. In addition, the default columns can be deleted.
Note:This app uses a custom installer (and not the standard App Store installer).

Are there any known issues with this product?
File Location: In Drawing Automation, it’s recommended to save the drawing document in the same directory as your project files (part or assembly path).
File References: In Drawing Automation, make sure all file references in your assemblies are resolved before running the process. Unresolved file paths may cause errors during sheet creation.
View Scale: In Drawing Automation, ensure that the sample sheet uses an appropriate view scale. The process may fail if any generated view exceeds the sheet boundary.
