TL Polyline Morph
Todor LatevTL Polyline Morph
Todor LatevMorphs one polyline into another by generating intermediate polylines at arbitrary stages of the process.
Free
This app will ask the user to select a set of source and target polylines and a morphing progress metric (expressed in %). It will then go on to generate a third polyline which is a blend/morph of the source/target ones. A level of 0% will generate a polyline exactly matching the original but which will also have additional "genes" or vertices from the target one as well.
Similarly, a level of 100% will perfectly match the target polyline with added vertices from the source polyline as well. Any other intermediate values of x% will result in a polyline matching x% the source polyline and (100-x)% the target polyline. A setting of 50% would be useful for example for generating a center polyline, or an average polyline between the other two polylines. This app will not modify the original polylines in any way. Supported objects are LWPolylines and 3Dpolylines. If any of the source objects is a 3Dpolyline the end result will also be a 3Dpolyline.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
What else should I know about this product?
For polylines with thousands of vertices, the operation may take some time. Hit the escape key to abort an operation in progress at any time. For best results make sure the directions of the polylines are similar i.e. you may have to reverse a polyline direction if the intermediate polylines self intersect.
Are there any known issues with this product?
Currently the app treats all polylines as a string of vertices ie curves are not supported. Additionally, the "IsClosed" boolean variable is ignored and all polylines are treated as "open". You can easily work around this limitation by simulating a closed polyline - ie by inserting a vertex close to the starting vertex of the polyline.
The app also does not support polylines with different elevations drawn in different UCS systems.
A polyline object will still be generated but may have incorrect vertex elevations. To work around this issue convert the polylines to 3D polylines.
Is there additional support information provided?
