7cad BatchEditBlockInplace
7cad7cad BatchEditBlockInplace
7cadEditing many blocks in place all at once.
Free
Run 7cadBatchEditBlockInplace will open the app's palette with commands and instructions.
The app is useful in 2 scenarios:
1. You have many "small" blocks that are subject to change frequently. You have to run the Autodesk® AutoCAD® native REFEDIT command on each block. 7cad BatchEditBlockInplace provides a quicker workflow. Run the "Open Blocks" command to open your small blocks in the current drawing and edit and save them all in place at once.
2. You have many "small" drawings to edit. For example, part drawings are exported from some other software. Normally, you open each drawing to make changes. But using the app, you can open those "small" drawings inside the current drawing, edit, and then save them, all in place at once.
Note that the app works only with normal, non-dynamic blocks. The dynamic block is unique and can only be edited in the AutoCAD Block Editor.
The workflow is
+ Run the command "Open Blocks and/or Drawings," then select blocks from the block list or on screen. You can also select drawing files.
+ Click OK and specify an insertion point. Then, your blocks and/or drawings will be placed in green frames called "editors."
+ In the editor, the source block is exploded into native drawing objects. You can edit it normally using AutoCAD tools. Note that you should keep your change within the green frame "editor." If it is out of space, move the editor and its content to a wider space and extend its dynamic length and height.
+ Run command "Save Blocks and/or Drawings": select editors, and the Save Blocks window will be brought up. Specify your saving options, then click OK. Blocks and Drawings in the selected editors will be saved and updated.
Additional commands from the palette to help work with blocks more easily:
+ Change Block Units: select blocks and change their block units, allow exploding property, and/or convert them from dynamic blocks to normal static blocks.
+ Explode "Non Allow Exploding" Blocks: sometimes you want to explode some blocks, but get stuck because it is not allowed. Then you can try this handy command.
