MapRelate is the CAD-GIS integration (import) solution for AutoCAD from linknode, using OSGeo FDO and 1Spatial technology.
Geospatial data is often required as background or engineering base data, but is typically managed by GIS systems and held in proprietary formats including ESRI SHP, MapInfo and Oracle.
MapRelate is designed to work entirely within for AutoCAD users who need access such departmental or corporate GIS datasets, or just need to open a file from a supplier. Once translated into entities in your drawing, the data may be edited and saved as a DWG drawing file. Most GIS formats are supported.
Visualization Solutions
VentusAR is the personal, mobile solution for visual impact analysis assessment. VIA is part of environmental and landscape visualisation assessment required for large-scales plans and development including renewables.
Amongst the tools used for VIA, photomontages are considered the most meaningful to the public and professionals. However, the limitations of expense, time to construct, limited viewpoints, subjective positioning, static representation and navigation problems mean there is still a challenge in delivering inclusive planning information.
